Chapter #204, Greencastle, PA

Royal Family Kids’ Chapter #204, Greencastle, PA launched its first camp in 2008 with only 23 campers and approximately 50 staff. Since our first camp, we have added a teen component called Teen Reach Adventure Camp or TRAC, and two 9-month mentoring programs so we can continue to make an impact all year long. We are happy to be one of 5 Royal Family Kids’ camps located in Pennsylvania and the only camp in PA to provide all 4 programs.

In August, we held our 16th week of camp. We were happy to be back to full capacity with 56 campers. One-third of the camp was new because we graduated 17 last year. This year, we graduated another 14! Camp 2025 will be a relatively “young camp.” We also had over 100 staff and daily volunteers! Our amazing staff, the beautiful camp setting and fabulous weather provided an amazing week! RFK uses the word, milieu, to describe a perfect setting for life changing moments to happen. Using a jungle adventure theme, our campers enjoyed learning the true-life story of Joseph, a man whose brothers hated him and sold him into slavery, but God used his situation to raise him up. Though he faced challenges, he eventually became a leader and saved his family and his country from starvation. What a great story of HOPE for our campers!

Confronting Abuse and Loving Kids!

Annually, 3.6 million cases of child abuse, neglect or abandonment are reported in America. One of these victims dies every six hours due to that abuse. But you can make a difference — through your support of Royal Family KIDS.

Royal Family KIDS, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. Donations and gifts are tax-deductible, as allowed by law.

Activities are purposefully designed to be non-competitive and non-threatening while allowing children to experience success.

God’s love is modeled consistently, through the games, sports, activity centers, bible stories, drama and quiet times the campers share with their counselors.

Same Heart, New Name, Bigger Impact.

We are now For The Children and here’s why.

For 30 years, volunteers, churches, businesses, local municipal partners and Royal Family Kids staff have dedicated their time, talent and treasures to help transform the lives of vulnerable children across the US, and world.

While RFK has formally overseen our camps and mentoring programs, the breadth of our work has evolved far beyond these two programs. Today we provide direct trauma intervention, advocacy, fostering, adoption, support to parents, and other crucial wraparound services.

While we acknowledge the expansion of our work across our 252 chapters, COVID-19 has profoundly increased the needs of children and families. Extreme gaps in fulfilling these needs cannot be overstated.

In order to address the systemic issues surrounding child welfare today, our organization must respond.

Consequently, as of November 2020, Royal Family KIDS, will officially be renamed For The Children. This transition will bring clarity to new opportunities, from providing laptops and shoes to needy children, to assisting overburdened social workers, to providing temporary shelter.

The teaching and example of Jesus in caring for “the least of these” will remain our motivation. As For The Children, we are also eager to focus on the systemic issues facing children, around the globe.
